Rx Safety, holder of licence SMKH20404, specialises in producing Certified Prescription Safety Spectacles to the Australian Standard AS/NZS 1337.6: 2012 and glass lenses for ophthalmic lenses.


Prescription Safety 

Rx Safety is licensed (SMKH 20404) by SAI Global to manufacture Certified Prescription Eye Protectors against Low and Medium Impact Resistance in accordance with AS/NZS 1337. 6. Rx Safety product is Australian Made.

Rx Safety is proud to be :

  • First to be  granted a licence for AS/NZS 1337.6
  • First to produce certified Polycarbonate prescription safety eyewear
  • First to produce certified Trivex prescription safety eyewear
  • First to produce certified Trivex Transitions  prescription safety eyewear

Rx Safety has all the necessary testing machinery to enable spectacle analysis to AS/NZS1337.6. The impact testing equipment includes ballistics tester, penetration tester and dropball tester all of which are on site. All testing equipment is maintained within calibration intervals and is calibrated by NATA registered organisations.

As a manufacturer of Certified Prescription Safety Eyewear, Rx Safety is able to provide certified product in both Trivex and Polycarbonate lens materials across single vision, bifocals and multifocals lens types.

Rx Safety has a wide range of frames that have been selected to have the right properties of:

  • Strength
  • Eye sizes allowing a wide range of scripts and pupillary distances
  • Eye coverage
  • Durability

Rx Safety promotes spectacle frames from Cummings Optical, Ugly Fish Safety Eyewear, ASW, Hilco & Uvex. All certified product is on Standardsmark Schedule for AS/NZS1337.6 licensed to Rx Safety.  Additional information is available on request for each eye protector.  Rx Safety also makes Compliant safety eyewear using the same manufacturing methods and traceability as for Certified product.
